b.hawk
I am installing the bypass oil filter on my rebuilt Dodge six. One of the straight nipples has an extremely small hole (to restrict oil flow). Does this fitting go in the inlet or outlet of the oil filter or where the return line connects to the block. The bypass filter housing is a Purolator NE-1517. Thanks. Edited December 31, 2020 by b.hawk
Booger
discharge goes to lower port on block. Mine are both 1/8"

Andydodge
The 41 Plymouth I had was an older resto with no oil filter either so I bought a Finned Beehive Filter from Speedway I think and used braided stainless lines to attach it to the block.........it came with instructions and a list of about 10-12 USA brands of filter elements that fitted............being finned it made the car go faster.......lol.................andyd
Dodgeb4ya
The 3/16" line oil filter fittings holes should all be the same size...no single fitting with a tiny restriction hole. The fitting with the itty bitty hole in it is for the block to oil gauge line. Dampens oil pump pulsations for a steady oil gauge needle.
48ply1stcar
Here's a great picture and thread thanks to Sam Buchanan. Top hose to inlet.
Marcel Backs
I have used a beehive mounted away from the engine on my old 235 (brand x). Aluminum with fins to keep oil temp down and extra oil capacity are key benefits. Plus they look cool!
