n1gzd_plymouth Posted October 24, 2019 Report Posted October 24, 2019 Hi, An update. I have sorted out the parts issues (after determining that military surplus for M37 is helpful). My engine is now ready. I will attempt to post a few pics. It is not in the car yet. Please no comments about the color. I did not want a silver engine. I previously painted it black (which was cool) but I decided that this time a lighter color would be more practical. No bling on it yet (do that later). Rebecca Quote
n1gzd_plymouth Posted October 24, 2019 Author Report Posted October 24, 2019 I guess I can't show the other side because of the 3M limit. Quote
n1gzd_plymouth Posted October 24, 2019 Author Report Posted October 24, 2019 peak torque just under 200 ft-lbs, and peak HP about 100. Is very fine for this street toy. Quote
Sam Buchanan Posted October 24, 2019 Report Posted October 24, 2019 (edited) The engine looks great! However.....rubber fuel hose from the filter adjacent to the exhaust manifold.........maybe this isn't the final installation. Edited October 24, 2019 by Sam Buchanan Quote

RobertKB Posted October 24, 2019 Report Posted October 24, 2019 Good job! Looks great! I prefer the silver engines but everyone is different. I just love flathead engines! One thing I know for sure, the internal moving components could care less what the exterior colour is. All they care about is being cozy and functioning smoothly inside! Quote
HotRodTractor Posted October 25, 2019 Report Posted October 25, 2019 Nice! Do you happen to have a dyno sheet with the curves that you could post? Also - the 3mb limit is per post - so you can always make another post with another picture. Quote
greg g Posted October 25, 2019 Report Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) Or you can set your camera or phone to a lower definition resolution setting. Fewer pixles per picture means more photo per post. Were those readings at specific rpm or were they peak numbers?? If they were peak at what rpm did they occur? By the way that blue is striking. James_Douglas Posted October 26, 2019 Report Posted October 26, 2019 Color is fine. I did a dark grey on the '47 Desoto engine with a deep read head and bell housing. The head and bell were powder coated. Over the last 10 plus years that really paid off in wiping down oil from things. James PS. I would also like to see the curves. I attached some curves I have from the factory. 3 Quote
