DonaldSmith Posted September 21, 2019 Report Posted September 21, 2019 I had my parking brake relined at a local shop that served the trucking and fork-lift industries. There is something about not getting the new lining too thick. Quote
kencombs Posted September 21, 2019 Report Posted September 21, 2019 Or, if you really want to DIY, the material is available from McMaster/Carr and others in bulk, undrilled. Cheap too. Can be bonded or riveted, if you have the correct drills. I've used that approach on trucks and tractors with the same type band and almost impossible to find OEM. Quote
Doug&Deb Posted September 21, 2019 Report Posted September 21, 2019 I had my D24 done by the local NAPA. I did have to tell them what thickness was needed. You can find this in the parts book. Quote

Mark D Posted September 24, 2019 Report Posted September 24, 2019 One of the easiest things to do yourself. The material does not need to be bonded to the steel band so its a simple removal of the old wear surface, cleaning up the band, and reinstall of the new wear surface. Remember to slightly countersink the rivets with a like size drill bit when you reinstall to prevent the rivets from being ground off by the brake hub. Oldmoparts.com has the replacement bands in stock. Mark D Quote
