Yzrider22k Posted May 7, 2019 Report Posted May 7, 2019 Hello, Brand new to the forum. Would like some help. Picked up a 1951 dodge truck, however I am having difficulty determining the model. Attached is a picture. There are no vin plates unfortunately. Any help is appreciated. Quote
Yzrider22k Posted May 8, 2019 Author Report Posted May 8, 2019 Thanks for the response! What are the major differences between B1 and B3? Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted May 8, 2019 Report Posted May 8, 2019 Looks like a 1951-52 B3 truck with 1948-50 B1/B2 Doors. Quote
Bobacuda Posted May 8, 2019 Report Posted May 8, 2019 '53 has different rear fenders. Does the dash have a chrome metal plate in the middle or plastic script that says "Dodge" ('53 model). Quote
ggdad1951 Posted May 8, 2019 Report Posted May 8, 2019 hard to tell from the picture, but the door water channels make it look like a B1 or a B2. For a definitive answer we'd need pics of the dash. It looks like you have a mongrel body. B1 1948 B2 1949-50 B3 1951-1952 B4 1953 There are a ton of differences if you really get into it, to name a few quick off the top of my head: rear fenders (as mentioned) dash script (as mentioned) door crease (as mentioned) seat seat pan rear cab bracing water channel around the door hood grill grill top center badging wiper placement gauges factory radio cut out hood props horn button parking brake trans (synchro gears vs. non) anti-squeak on windhshield door seal location door sill panel window cranks interior door handles exterior door handles escutcheon type of interior handles interior door cover panel interior stamping on door I'm sure there are more that I forgot 1 Quote
Yzrider22k Posted May 8, 2019 Author Report Posted May 8, 2019 Thanks gents. Will post some photos tonight. Really appreciate the help. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 9, 2019 Report Posted May 9, 2019 That’s a B3 dash. So it looks like you have a ‘51 or ‘52 with ‘48-‘50 doors. Or at least the the passenger side door... It also appears to be a 1/2 ton based on the space between the cab and fenders. That would make it a B3B. Quote
Yzrider22k Posted May 9, 2019 Author Report Posted May 9, 2019 Appreciate all the posts. Will def be on here more as the build progresses. 2 Quote
