kencombs Posted May 18, 2020 Report Posted May 18, 2020 10 hours ago, Todd B said: Your car looks amazing! I am sure it’s not the same mainly because I deal with salt in the winter’s. But I have purchased two different dump trailers with, as they quoted high-quality powder coat paint and after two winters they look like crap. Paint comes off in sheets. The last one I purchased I paid extra for I believe a zink primer and after one winter it looks great. I absolutely love the quality of work you have been doing on your Pontiac. That seems to be an intermittent problem with some production processes. JD had a lot of issue with bad powder coat several years back. My info sources said it was due to them not applying the powder immediately after the cleaning and prep. The metal was getting contaminated between steps. Once they fixed that, all was well. A small custom shop shouldn't experience that. And, most are very careful with processes as their income and reputation is dependent on good results. more so than paint, Powder is dependent on good prep Quote

RobertKB Posted June 15, 2020 Report Posted June 15, 2020 Another step closer. Restoring an old car is like eating an elephant.........one bite at a time. You don’t have too many more bites left to take. Quote
casper50 Posted June 17, 2020 Author Report Posted June 17, 2020 Paul if you're speaking about mine it isn't. I only have 1 message in there. Quote

pflaming Posted July 1, 2020 Report Posted July 1, 2020 Fro the looks in the photo, the light blue really looks great. Quote
casper50 Posted July 6, 2020 Author Report Posted July 6, 2020 I've been messing with getting the brake lines run, new MC and bleeding them. Front caliper banjo bolts would not seal. Went through 3 sets of copper crush washers before I bought new bolts which finally did the trick. Installed the two rear door panels. 2 Quote
casper50 Posted July 16, 2020 Author Report Posted July 16, 2020 Got the wiring bugs out, tightened all the fuel line connections and bam she started right up. 3 Quote
RobertKB Posted July 16, 2020 Report Posted July 16, 2020 Congratulations! Another milestone reached. I've followed the build from the start and can't wait to see it on the road for the first time! Hopefully soon! Quote
casper50 Posted July 16, 2020 Author Report Posted July 16, 2020 It shouldn't be real long now. Have to wait for agw7.5 fuses. No one up here sells them. Good old ebay. Quote
pflaming Posted July 17, 2020 Report Posted July 17, 2020 Tin foil from a gum wrapper won’t work? LOL Quote
pflaming Posted July 17, 2020 Report Posted July 17, 2020 We better build our cars now, before the govt shuts us down with education, commerce, churches, and restaurants! Quote
casper50 Posted July 17, 2020 Author Report Posted July 17, 2020 They could choke our supply of new parts. That's about it I'd guess. Quote
