FlashBuddy
Purchased a C Clamp from Harbor Freight for the express purpose of pressing out the passenger door hinge pin. Not too many turns of the screw later and the clamp split. Looking for a C Clamp recommendation that has a good price to strength ratio
Flatie46
I look at flea markets and yard sales for old made in USA ones. I would pay more for a rusty one from the 60' s than a new one, they're better.

Dodgeb4ya
Un-sprung good old quality USA clamps as found at swap meets and garage sales is the way to go at an affordable cost. Chinese Harbor Freight... no ... you will hurt your self with sometimes dangerous cheap tools .
Flatie46
That's a fine example right there!
Flatie46
Oh yea, I have done well at estate sales on good older USA made tools. Probably because a lot of us know how hard the good stuff is to come by and we will never sell.
FlashBuddy
Following up. Bought another Harbor Freight C clamp and this one did the job. Funny, didn't have to crank it - Modest pressure and POP! Pin broke free and slid out. Maybe the first clamp and PBBlaster helped?
Plymouthy Adams
finding good used clamps is often difficult, swap meets, flea markets, yard sales and the occasional pawn shop....on the pawn shop....kinda like most places...they put a price on it and you pay that...they gladly take your money....most all are open for counter offers...don't be shy...speak up but do know a bit about the name and size when you do....they don't react well to a flat out insult....lol At the flea market today I bought only a 3/32 nail set, and a 1/16 roll pin punch...needed a small one like that....glad to have found it...
