RobertKB Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 It looks great!! No need for a repaint. You will just need to keep it waxed occasionally or it will oxidize again. Well worth the effort. 1 Quote

Of corse from years and years of working on farm. Plus back end fenders are both cracked. Both were repaired with bolts and nuts. Edited August 8, 2017 by bambamshere Quote
59bisquik Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 Lots and lots of scratches just show it was used and generally have a story behind them. But now she is shiny and pretty with a bit of character. 3 Quote

59bisquik Posted August 9, 2017 Report Posted August 9, 2017 Btw... if I ever get around to painting my truck, that green you have will be my choice! 1 Quote
bambamshere Posted August 9, 2017 Author Report Posted August 9, 2017 I am color blind with some greens and have no idea what color green that is. Quote
NiftyFifty Posted August 9, 2017 Report Posted August 9, 2017 I'd give the grill bars a shot of new flat white paint..or even better would be an off white and it will look great 1 Quote
bambamshere Posted August 9, 2017 Author Report Posted August 9, 2017 I was looking at them yesterday and tried some rubbing compound on them and the rust started coming off or patina or whatever someone want to call it. Quote
bambamshere Posted August 10, 2017 Author Report Posted August 10, 2017 Ok so it didn't turn out to bad. But I am trying to figure out the back fender on both sides. Should I just keep working on it or does someone else have any Ideas. Oh and that other spot in front of fender is where tire goes. 1 Quote
59bisquik Posted August 10, 2017 Report Posted August 10, 2017 The fenders look like they might need a bit more work. But then again, the paint is 60 years old and that might be the best it gets. Only time will tell. Quote
bambamshere Posted August 11, 2017 Author Report Posted August 11, 2017 Well magic number was 3 that's how many times I had to put rubbing compound on. Now it looks like this. 6 Quote

pflaming Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 You will be amazed how much better that rear fender will look once you paint the rims and maybe even the running boards. Very nice. 1 Quote
