dale
Hoping someone here can help.. My Son-in-Laws 2013 GMC Arcadia wont move in forward or reverse. I see the trans shifts via electric solinoids and they are controlled by the computer Id think. Does the system have a fuse in it ? $4500 they want for a rebuild or replacement. Hard to trust anything a shop says. Thks.
RobertKB
Not still under warranty? Pretty hard to buy anything these days with less than 5 year warranty on powertrain. Lots of makers have a longer warranty than that. If off warranty, I would certainly get a second and even third opinion. TodFitch
What, if any codes are showing up when you put a ODBII read out device on the car?
Flatie46
Google Acadia trans issues and see what comes up. Other than that check the fluid, clean the grounds. Since its like most things. computer controlled may want to pull a battery cable off for a bit then put it back on and see what happens. Wife bought an Acadia back in the summer to replace our Honda Pilot that is getting on up in miles. I like it but I'm a big guy, the Pilot has a tad bit more leg room. JBNeal
Verify if there are any active TSBs for your vehicle, GM may have a fix that they will pay for but the dealer "forgets" to mention. With all of the complexities of computer controls on modern vehicles, rarely are blown fuses at fault. If there is an internal sensor or solenoid that has failed, sometimes this requires a transmission overhaul and thems are high dollar. A quick internet search shows that transmission problems for the Acadia are common, but satisfaction may not be as common... good luck and happy motoring
plymouthcranbrook
I am still in shock over $4500 for a rebuild. I thought the rebuild on my 2001 Astro AWD was outrageous($2600), now it seems like perhaps it's a bargain.
