I have no Idea. I believe both the suicide door and non suicide door cars have the same wheel base but I cold be wrong. Pictured is a town sedan. See post 17 for a non town sedan. Quote
49D-24BusCpe Posted September 30, 2016 Report Posted September 30, 2016 Hi Pete & All, All this information is from the Ross Roy (D-24) Salesmen Data Book. All DeLuxe and Custom vehicles have 119.5" wheelbases, except for the Custom Seven-Passenger Sedan which has 137.5". The 'premium' Custom model cars have the additional chrome rear fender moldings. The DeLuxe Four-Door Sedan, the Custom Four-Door Sedan, and the Custom Seven-Passenger Sedan all have rear "suicide" doors. The other four door model, the Custom Town Sedan, is equipped with the "regular" rears. Walt 2 Quote

Don,maybe it is the small photo and my old eyes, but I really can't see any difference in them. Quote

Too lazy and tired to do a search,so I guess I will trust you. It doesn't really matter anyhow because the towncar I was remembering clearly wasn't a Mopar because it had a shorter wheelbase, suicide rear doors, and a sort of short roof with a bit of a hump where the trunk lid goes. I'm more interested in finding out what that is. It's possible it was a 41 Chevrolet because that is one of the few Chevrolets that I like. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 30, 2016 Report Posted September 30, 2016 if for nothing else to compare...look at the most rear side glass....I have a 1941 and a 1947 Town Sedan...museum tours start at 8 AM by appointment only, come after breakfast, bring your own lunch and leave before supper....10.00 entrance fee being driver or driver and car load...5.00 parking fee for non-Mopar visitors 1 Quote
