casper50 Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 Anyone know anyone that carries the door hinge screws and front fender to body studs, nuts and washers? Quote
48ply1stcar Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 My go to is Restoration Specialties http://www.restorationspecialties.com/ Although, they should be available from a good independent hardware store. Quote
Bingster Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 That washer that looks like a flower is almost impossible to come by. I could use a couple of dozen myself. But as they usually will never be seen, any similar weight washer will do. Quote
wayfarer Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 Try McMaster-Carr or MSC http://www.mscdirect.com/ http://www.mcmaster.com/# 1 Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted March 15, 2016 Report Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) Same stud and washers used on 1941-48 DeSoto cars. Edited March 15, 2016 by Dodgeb4ya Quote
casper50 Posted March 15, 2016 Author Report Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) found some. https://www.wclco.com/lock-washers/toothed-lock-washers/ the photo for toothed lock washers on the right is an exact match but the photo when you click on that section isn't an exact match but it's real close. at WCL # DMTP-0375-22-01 Edited March 15, 2016 by casper50 2 Quote

casper50 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Report Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) MC has no domed washers. No reply back from WLC yet. Edited March 16, 2016 by casper50 Quote
JSabah Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 DMP has it for sure... In either stainless or chrome http://dmpfasteners.com/shop/hardware-fasteners-1824/washers-92/external-countersunk-ss-161/ http://dmpfasteners.com/shop/hardware-fasteners-1824/bolts-screws-76/oval-machine-chrome-1616/ I'm not sure of the size studs that you need, but I'm willing to bet they will have it too http://dmpfasteners.com/shop/1-4-28-x-1-stud-grd-8-10512 Best thing is to call them as they are very knowledgeable (they told me about types of hardware I didn't even know existed) PS no affiliation 1 Quote
casper50 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Report Posted March 16, 2016 I've found the door screws and studs locally. Need the domed washer now. Quote
Bingster Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 I looked at the wclco site and that washer in Casper50's right-hand photo above is about as close as you're gonna get if it comes in the same size. I'm gonna contact them and see. Maybe they'll send a sample. Quote
casper50 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Report Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) Bingster I emailed them yesterday no answer back yet. If you make contact please let me know. Thanks. Bingster Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 Could you send them your photo of the washer along with a diameter and see what they say? I believe they are a supplier of quantity and maybe don't want to deal in piecemeal sales. If so, maybe we could go in together on a larger quantity. Quote
DJ194950 Posted March 16, 2016 Report Posted March 16, 2016 Do they look like these from McMaster-Carr? They had the counter sunk machine bolts on a different page. http://images2.mcmaster.com/mvA/contents/gfx/large/90900a030p1-b01l.png?ver=1406105752 If not I missed the question/search somewhere. Oh well! LOL. DJ Quote
casper50 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Report Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) no. they look like the photo on the right in #6 on this thread. My local bolt and supply is going to try and order some since I found the place that has them but only sells wholesale. They said that I might have to buy a whole box, so if anyone needs some let me know. Edited March 16, 2016 by casper50 Quote
JSabah Posted March 17, 2016 Report Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) You should have a look at the DMP Fasteners links that I posted..... Edited March 17, 2016 by JSabah Quote
casper50 Posted March 17, 2016 Author Report Posted March 17, 2016 I did and didn't see anything like that domed washer that goes on the stud Quote

casper50 Posted March 17, 2016 Author Report Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) WCL emailed me and told me that Fastenal either will carry these or can order. My local Fastenal doesn't carry them but has ordered them for me. $5.00 for 20 + shipping. If they look like the photo they are extremely close to the originals. Here's the number that Fastenal found them under: DMTP-0375-22-01 Update. No Fastenal store carries them. It's a minimum order of 200. $50 + shipping. Don't mind ordering them but no way I'd use more than 12. Anyone else need any? Edited March 17, 2016 by casper50 1 Quote
Bingster Posted March 17, 2016 Report Posted March 17, 2016 I'd be very interested to see those. What diameter did you get? Quote

Bingster Posted March 31, 2016 Report Posted March 31, 2016 What did that stud come off of? I have some smaller ones that attach the front grille on my '47 Desoto but I have six large ones that I don't know what they came off of. Let us know when you get those washers you ordered. Quote
casper50 Posted April 1, 2016 Author Report Posted April 1, 2016 studs are for the rear of the front fenders. I cannot get the washers unless I order 200. $50. No problem doing that but I don't want to sit on a bunch of special washers that I will never use again. Quote
Bingster Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 I was in my local Fastenal today and the gal there took every bolt and washer that I came in with and walked around and found every one. Those that she didn't have she ordered. All the bolts were in packages of five or ten or whatever you wanted. She also ordered me those domed washers pictured above, both the non-periphery and the toothed periphery. I told her I got a source from this site and I sent her in the info. She matched all the bolts from my '47 Desoto exactly. I didn't even know I had a Fastenal near me. Quote
