New to the hotrod world and to the forum. Looking for any kind of help with lowering my truck. Any advice or do's and don'ts would be greatly appreciated. It's on the original frame and suspension. I'd like to to keep it that way if possible. I'm using the flathead and 3speed trans. Would like it to be a little lower. Thanks for any input

Welcome to the forum. A moderator will have to move this thread over to the truck side of the forum. You accidentally posted on the car side.

You can lower the front of the truck by getting the axle dropped 3". More info here :

The rear can be dropped by moving the axle so it mounts on top of the leaf springs instead of underneath. This probably requires the frame to be c-notched for clearance.

How low do you want to go?

If you flip the rear axle to the top of the leaf springs, you'll have to move the spring pads the bottom of the axle. If you're not going to carry anything heavy in the back, you might be able to get away with removing a couple leafs.

I removed the next to the bottom leaf on all four springs. Truck came sown evenly nearly two inches. It made a big difference in driving, more of an on the road feeling and better corning. It is a lot of work, but well woth it to me.
