dodgebrice Posted November 21, 2015 Report Posted November 21, 2015 I was reading an email on old ASE test questions and it got me thinking about what Dodge specified. The question was: Does anyone know the correct answer and is it what Dodge recommended for their trucks? Also what is the proper torque spec? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted November 21, 2015 Report Posted November 21, 2015 I would typically do 1-3-5-2-4, but that's not one of the answers. And I don't have my manual handy to look up the specs. Merle Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 21, 2015 Report Posted November 21, 2015 same as I Merle...but that choice is not among the answers provided...but I got to admit I have never mounted a rim of this nature using cleat's Quote
dodgebrice Posted November 21, 2015 Author Report Posted November 21, 2015 I found out the correct answer was 1-4-3-5-2 but still have not found out if Dodge used anything like this or what torque specs were. Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 21, 2015 Report Posted November 21, 2015 Did it say anything about checking wheel runout while torqueing the wheel down? 1 Quote
dodgebrice Posted November 22, 2015 Author Report Posted November 22, 2015 I don't have a manual to find any of that information. I found the answer to the test question through the ASE facebook page. Quote
Eneto-55 Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 I always do every other one like others have already said, except sometimes I go counter clockwise. Just which ever way I get started. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 I have a couple 3 ton dodges with these cast spoke wheels. Nothing said in any of the factory dodge shop manuals 1948-1960 on the cast spoke torque patterns. Torque value is dependant on stud size. You have to torque the clamp wedges to the proper torque and work your way back and forth around the rim clamps to evenly tighten the wheel/s.. Pulled this info out of my heavy truck book....
