pflaming Posted September 12, 2015 Report Posted September 12, 2015 A serious buyer looked at my suburbans today and taught me something. One front frame fork ( end of frame) is significantly bent caused by an accident. I thought it to be an easy fix but he pointed out that the big question is whether the frame is not square, i,e., a parallelogram. If it is off square, then the cost to repair that far exceeds any value the car has. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 12, 2015 Report Posted September 12, 2015 PP the frame dimension are in the book......trammel points are clearly marked for you to be able to ascertain this very fact for yourself...did he make any measurements" a stel tape and a bit of masking tape on the concrete along with a plumb bob will take the guess out of it all...and by the way..you told me long time ago that this frame was damaged..did you not advertise it as such when selling? Young Ed Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 My 48 had both the front horns bent over that bad or worse and the rest of the frame was ok. $400 fix at a frame shop. 1 Quote
