Don Coatney Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 In the old days this snake oil devise was used to inject water and per the advertisers this made for a better performing engine. This plate might work for NOS injection and that will give you a big HP gain for a short time. 1 Quote
TodFitch Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 One of the things people did back then was inject a little water into the engine. . . Theory being it would turn to steam. That would increase the pressure in the cylinder for more power and cool the engine a bit too. Maybe this was a kit for that. . . Quote
T120 Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 Top cylinder oilers have also been around for years - may be part of one.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-oiler-replacement-Ampco-Top-Cylinder-Lubricator-/130791069342 1 Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 I think the other thing the steam would do was decarbonize the combustion chamber, removing the hot spots. Quote

Ulu Posted June 25, 2015 Report Posted June 25, 2015 The first thing I thought when I saw that kit was "PCV valve conversion." Quote
