For you "car" guys that don't venture over to the truck side, and haven't seen my ongoing post there, I thought you might like to see what's going on in the Detroit area this week. They say that they're expecting a little over 100 cars this Saturday for the show, but so far there's not that many here, but there are some nice ones already.

Here's a little teaser...

More arrived yesterday, but I realized that as I walked around the parking lot drooling and talking with people I forgot to take any more pictures.Stay tuned for more...

Merle:

On the Gray 39 Chrysler the gentleman that owns this car is from canada. When I attend the NCPC convention about 15 years ago I met this owner of this 39 Chrysler. He noticed that I had the factory rear gravel guard on my 39 Desoto. We took mine off the car and he traced the outline and then went onto make several reproduction rear gravel guards that go between the rear bumper and the body.

Check it out it you get back to the show, This is avery nice 39 Chrysler and I think it even has the factory overdrive.

Mark A, Mark B and I attended a WPC event in St. Johnsbury Vt two summers ago.  Other than some mechanical and technical problems, we had a nice time.  Formost in my memory is the Cheese to Chicken Run.  A trip From the Cabot Cheese plant to a church in the middle of nowhere for a chicken and biscuit lunch.  The planners only had one lead car and very feeble instructions to get from one to the other.  I ended up using my gps and leading a merry band ( some disgruntled as a couple roads were unpaved)  from the creamery to the church.  There were about 80 cars on the show field Saturday.  I was surprised in that the participant judged show awarded me a 3rd in class trophy, Mark A's P15 Sedan got the Special P15 award that the WPC has.

Yes Rich, I've seen this Chrysler before. It is a very nice car and a very nice couple.

Greg, I agree that their driving tours are typically poorly organized and getting separated and lost is normal. So far we've done 2 bus tours this week. Wednesday to the Ford Piquette St Plant and today to The Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village. Michelle and I spent the whole time in the village. What an awesome place.

Here's a few more parking lot pics from this morning...

That grey 1940 Dodge looks really nice. That is one of the colours I was thinking about painting my '40 but the wife (and I) preferred red. Thanks for posting.

Might try to take a run by there tomorrow (Saturday). If you see a guy with a long, white beard, long hair, and a black hat, that will be me (and not one of The Oak Ridge Boys).

Thanks for the pics.  I thought I read where WPC 2015 will be in Springfield, IL?  If so I'd like the make the trip up to

check it out, if nothing else.

Looks like they had nice weather for the event this year.
