HanksB3B Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I brought it up......GTK made the call. http://p15-d24.com/topic/35952-adding-forums/ 48D O.k. then, anything for a friend. I'm ok with it. Like Slick once told me " Well If that's what blows your skirt up". Most people believe me when I tell them I have a flat head. Hank Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Tim you are the Man!!!! Sure wouldn't have been that easy if I had made the suggestion. Jeff Quote

While it would be nice to have subcategories like "Mopar Job Rated W-Series", "Job Rated Pilothouse Trucks, Mopar C-Series Trucks, etc., What everyone seems to agree on is that we have this great forum to ask questions and find solutions about our trucks. More than likely change to our forum will likely happen, but for now thanks GTK and all involved for keeping this this best Mopar Forum in the world ! Hank Hank Edited May 12, 2014 by HanksB3B Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I think what will help is CLEAR and CONSISE thread titles, maybe we should include truck types in the title or thread tags to help sort them in the feed? I have seen it many times but I have never understood anyone coming here asking a question without defining make and model..some things are general..somethings are specific..sometimes truck questions are on the car side of the forum and most would assume a P15 and not a truck..yes it has happened and will probably continue to happened Also for those that failed to define I try first a quick look at the profile..but if that is void of pertinent information...how can one tailor an answer....the profile page is not for stalking or such...but a place to position yourself in regard to the forum in general.. It seemed like you "mellowed" your stance quite a bit when Tim chimed in. There has been some very good suggestions and comments here. Perhaps a subject vehicle line could be added? Might make some of the threads a bit easier to follow? Jeff Quote

Jim Shepard Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Well, I for one, don't like it and, given the opportunity, would have voted nay. I suspect it has something to do with the present condition/situation with DPETC (or, whatever it's called...). 1 Quote

48Dodger Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) I was looking to see if GTK could add forums to sort information about the trucks outside of the Pilot-House Era......not have the name changed. Judging from the response on this thread vs. the OT thread I started (since I thought it was a computer deal and not truck related per se) I wonder if very many truck guys saw my original post. All I had were questions. Nothing else...lol. I agree with Jim, I would have voted to leave the name alone and be more inviting (like ED said) and call it "Pilot-House and friends" 48D ps Hank is already a meeellllooooow dude. lol Edited May 13, 2014 by 48dodger Quote
Jeff Balazs Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Not sure a name change really means all that much? I don't think it matters as long as the people with non Pilothouse trucks feel welcome too. I do agree that any questions should have very clear headers as to what year and model is being discussed. I have seen some new people chased off by brusque and/or surly responses. That bothers me far more than a name change. When that happens it reflects poorly on all of us. I am not sure why this happens? If a question annoys you that much perhaps it would be best for all if it were just ignored. One of the things that has always impressed me about this forum has been the generally positive nature of it's members. It has almost always been a place you could go for excellent technical and moral support. I am certain that this has been the reason for it's success. I don't see why this positive attitude should not be extended beyond the pilothouse model designation. It seems to me to be part of a natural progression. It wouldn't bother me to see separate year or model breaks added to the forums if that helped. I just think we need to make a place for Mopar trucks other than just Pilothouse models. Jeff 1 Quote

BigDaddyO Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 The Powell has to be the very ugliest truck ever grace the American highways...they make a Stude look like a glamour queen....I don't care how utilitarian they are, how low cost they were made to the public...ugly is ugly.....the Aztec of the 50's maybe even uglier than a Crowsley Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 (edited) BigdaddyO...you only proving my point....man is that an abortion...but hey...it evidently is what the guy wants...this is making the Stude look even better than ever...lol Edited May 13, 2014 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
HanksB3B Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 I agree with what you guys have to say about the forum and would have liked to have seen a poll taken with suggestions as to a name change. I think it's a matter of what customizable template a web master uses (and maybe there are subscription costs and upgrades to contend with (not sure) I've always thought that Mtbr Forums did a fine job of catagorizing sub folders but nothing is perfect. Seems people with 26" wheel mountain bikes are ignored in favor of the newer 27.5 and 29er bikes. Hank P.S. ooh that reminds me Barry.... I owe you $20..and a big thank you (ss checks in the mail)...
