dodgeguy Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Hi, time for new tires , plan to install my self. Heard that my 47 d24 has "oval " rubber valve stems, if so where can I locate these parts/ Thanks Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 usually online as I have not seen them local but I would not say that everywhere would be the same....your local big box may have these..check with some of the hot rod shops ads in a mag also the search engine for this site is very useful and just type in oval valve stem and you will find a few sources referenced... 55 Fargo Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 You could try a "Google" search. I used screw in brass oval valve stems in the past they worked great, bought at local quality tire shop, not some "Fountain Tire" joint.... Quote
_shel_ny Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 (edited) patchboy should have what you want this will get you to the site http://patchboy.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=P&Product_Code=17-416&Category_Code=6-3 Edited May 2, 2014 by shel_ny Quote
P15-D24 Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Try a real tire shop that does commercial work. Quote
1950 Special Deluxe Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Check H5010V, I was able to get mine at a tire wholesaler. They were a stock item. Quote
1941Rick Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 I had the same requirement a few years ago. Could not find the right stems. I ended up using round one until I could get ovals one....they are still in there with no issues. Quote
50desotocoupe Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Same here....I have the round ones on there and they worked fine while I had the old wheels on the car. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 I believe we referred to the larger round ones as Ford style long ago as they were the predominant user of that size...using these would be a stop gap item while looking/securing proper style. Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 I always use the larger round ones-never leak. Simple. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Seems the larger ones are the answer....and these are even available at Walmart..seem them there the other day... Quote
1941Rick Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Was the oval hole to accommodate the inner tube stem? Quote
