Not everyone's cup of tea

So far using the Hurricane HEAT/ AC unit I have not had to change the original dash set up too much for the AC( made my one gauge panel for in front of the steering wheel out of an extra glove box lid. the AC vents are going to be 4 round style pods  Went with round to pick up gauge and speaker shapes) one at the outside edge of the dash against the (someday kick panel) and one under each speaker grill (about 3 inches) .  The plan is to put the controls in a pod under the key switch. Had to get that pod from different company OldAirs was too long. So far Leg room should not be an issue. Stock style adjustable bench with tilt steering, no shifter on floor and have been able to keep trans hump small,  going to go with painless 4 position push pull headlight switch to eliminate foot dimmer.  Some times I feel like I am putting the cart before the horse in planning all this out  NOW when I have so much more body work to do to the cab. But My Friends in my Car Club (Over the Hill Kruzers) tell me to do all of that now so I will not tear the whole thing up later (since there is so little room to work) after work is done

I think planning this out NOW is a great idea!  I'm already thinking about TODD's layout and I'm over a year away for the most part from doing a lot.   I'd love to see your layout/parts list for ideas.

Well I got a little done, the condenser is mounted with the horseshoe in front of the radiator. and the AC/heater is test fitted and defrost vents and ac vents fitted and paper templates were made for kick panel options later. One of the pics attached is of the wiper trans, as you can see one of the wiper mounting heads is missing , does anyone know if this can be fixed? also some mystery holes that look factory in the rear of the cab wall  2 perfect punched clean hole anyone know about these? Let me know if you do or know of a source for the wiper parts.

Hijacked a pic online Sorry if it was your LOL but Here it is The Decals I have are much better than what I could make up with the computer program. Not a big two tone fan, but alot of the Indian bikes of the era where 2 tone. and I have a lot of different colors on the real decals that would not show up on solid paint jobs of some colors. If anyone is talented at the paint stuff on the computer or has a better sense of color let me know still open to suggestions

 

Color limitations  that I have to deal with are the seats are black, extra tank bright red, and running lights are a cream color and letters on the Indian decal are red  

 

 

since the posted  engine fit pics were taken  the cab  also has been blasted and primed lots of body work in my future. Fixed the wiper problem but reversing the mount of a Newport unit, and solved the steering clearance issues. Well that's all that is new for now.....

Well things don't always go as planned but a few things had to be done different to try some of the things I wanted to try. First the paint was nothing close to what I wanted and as you know this truck was going to be wierd in alot of peoples eyes. Had to change some stuff in the bed to allow wider bed wood and less strips so I can later router Indian medalion into wood, and later have second indian bed tank.  Since it will be motorcycle theme I have kicked around door handle ,pulls and window crank ideas. I  know the paint job will not be great but  A guy in my car club is giving it a try. the guage panel was an extra glove box front witch will be mounted right in front of steering wheel. Have tons of work to do yet, exhaust, wiring glass ect but I will not give up LOL

I like the color combo. Do you have the color code for the red? I've got a project here that I need a color like that or similar, for. I was planning a similar gauge package for mine, the 4 gauge and speedo, different style, same location and directly into the dash panel and custom arm rests, handles as well, only on the inside. Outside has been shaved clean. I think a later style outer handle in bright stainless would look really good if located in the red or satin black if in the gold color. JMO. You're doing fine, making it your own.

The theme truck concept is a good one, I think I will borrow the idea by putting a siren on the fender, paint a fire mans helmet on the door, add a couple of fire extinguishers on the bed, and find me a Dalmatian cat! Lol

sirens may be reserved for emergency vehicles only, A fireman's hat on the door of a burnt  up truck would not inspire me or anyone else of your fire fighting skills, extinguishers on the truck is good as long as they are fully charged,   add a couple to the outside of the garage since you won't be able to get to the ones on your truck when the garage is burning., a Dalmation cat  won't wake you up after it starts a fire, It'll take off the the regular cat did. guilty conscious, I suppose, or deliberate sabotage.

color is vintage burgundy metallic, and the other is driftwood beige metallic (looks gold to me)   got a lead on the cat

 

when you had it mixed, there should have been a label on it with letters, numbers for reference, so you could have more mixed if needed.

Your mock-up reads "Indian Motorcycles". If this is a tribute to vintage Indian bikes, why use that spelling?

the paint was bought off a web site called TCP Global,  the painters house is far from me and he is 75 and never answers the phone LOL.  will follow up next club meeting.   As for the Motocycle vs motorcycle issue since the truck was not built till 1948 I belive they already used the word motorcycle. some antique parts used will have the old spelling  for kicks  Funny thing is I have been workin on this for a few years and just yesterday I saw a guy in Germany has 1949 Dodge truck with Indian motorcycle theme he just finished. Snooze you loose-----  at least I will not run into him at a car show someday

thanks for the info. But the ads from 1948 that I have seen show the spelling was already changed in all company print ads ect they may not have changed the offical name but were using motor in everything except stock certificates and things like that.

 thanks   Its growing on me a little  I guess I have to see it all together. (that may take a while LOL)  Should have never done it piece meal.  (note to self)  always get it all together and get the bugs out first,  live and learn
