There are 6v quartz-halogen bulbs and sealed beam lamps. But read the power specifications before using as some of them draw more current than your electrical system was designed for. If you go for a higher power bulb you should also consider headlight relays, etc.

Good stuff to know! My 6V lights seem to be pretty "adequate" for night driving, but I live in a rural area, and I don't drive Lumpy at night that often, and almost never in the rain, which seems to be where/when I can't see very well.

... Will have to get a new battery

as the old one is probably 5 years old or so.....and sat for almost 3 years......pretty weak and not taking a charge real

good.  A new 6 volt at the Battery Outfitters store where I usually get them, is about $79.95 now.  ..

Have you ever tried one of the new digital battery chargers that have a "desulfinate" setting?

I bought this one from amazon.com last year, and it works like a charm to bring batteries back to life that won't take or hold a charge. It delulfinates and charges both 6v and 12 v batteries

I've owned and been using a 12 volt one by Black and Decker for a couple of years now,and it has saved me enough from not having to buy new batteries that it has paid for itself a couple of times over.

If you need a new charger,I can recommend this one

Thanks Knuckle.......I'll check into it.

Once I get the headlight connections straightened out, I'll see what it does.  I have a couple headlight relays

in my collection so I might use them.  I got those headlights at O'Reilly Auto.

Back to the music...

The original version of 'Kansas City' was was recorded by Little Willie Littlefield, under the title 'K.C. Loving', in 1952.
I'm proud to report that Willie played our Rhythm Riot festival in the UK, in 2006.
Sadly, he succumbed to cancer last year.
He was a lovely guy...

Well now.......I just learned something.   I always thought Wilbert Harrison was first on K C.  I watched some more videos

of Little Willie - indeed, he was good.  Thanks, Robin.

Looked up some You Tube clips of Willie.........a fine boogie woogie piano player.

I went to Google and checked...........K C was written by Lieber and Stoller, who I think,

wrote numerous songs for Elvis.

Kansas City" is a rhythm and blues song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller in 1952.[1] First recorded by Little Willie Littlefield the same year, the song later became a #1 hit when it was recorded by Wilbert Harrison in 1959. "Kansas City" became one of Leiber and Stoller's "most recorded tunes, with more than three hundred versions,"[2] with several appearing in the R&B and pop record charts.

Just for fun, I'm going to post some additional info on the song on the OT section.

Bob,

Did you go to KC and get your car this LAST weekend??  Heard you were getting sleet and ice down there.  We got 5 " of snow, heavy at times.  I was supposed to move one too and roads are just too slick and snowy as well as salt etc spread on road.

fish-----K C is right up there with Route 66, Mustang Sally and a few others. I've played those many times, also.

Grndpa   We went to get the car last Thursday........the weather was nice.  It was supposed to do stuff on Friday like

snow and freezing rain -- but turns out it did not.   So we got it, no problems.......figured better safe than sorry.

I play bass guitar, harmonica and occasional washboard.  I work with a fellow named Max, who sings, plays guitar, and

owns a batch of effects equipment for backup.  Sometimes it's easier to get work with just two instead of 4 or 5.

You guys have any CD's? Would be cool to hit the road and have an authentic "MOPAR LOVERS" CD. Have others send their music to Bob. He can make one CD and I promise I will buy the first two CD's. You guys might go viral and then . . . play at the white house!
