I like the original wheels and caps on my 1937 Dodge, which of course, came with tubes.  Can I run a modern (retro) tubeless tire on these rims?

I think I would contact an expert on tires and tubes like Coker.  They have alot of technical info about tires and tubes.

As far as the rims go, many of us truck guys run tubeless on stock wheels. Sadly I'm not one yet, I need to save up for new tires to go on my nicer set of rims. But usually they just paint the rim up nicely and get a 2-piece valve stem. Got some pics of the wheels?

the shape of the hole in the rim is like a big diamond and doesnt seal well with regular valve stems, I have 2 on my car running tubeless and 2 with tubes, the tubeless ones leak down ever so slightly, I am thinking of yanking all four off, welding the diamonds up and then redrilling a round hole.

Not looking for any hoes, Don. Conrow Powercoating was talking about diamond shaped holes in the rim. Does any one sell valve stems to fit these holes? Stock wheels.

I have never seen an actual diamond shape hole in a stamped steel Plymouth including the artillery wheels.  What I have seen on a few are enlongated holes, oval if you will.  Could you have some that are rusted out  and may lend an appearance to a diamond shape..OR a wheel from some other make and model?...please post an actual photo of the hole opening and the overall wheel for possible identification.  By now you could have welded them up, smoothed the finish, drilled correct size hole for modern stem..blasted primed and painted the wheel..a move you may have to do yet.....oval valve stems however are easy to obtain...

I actually don't know what shape the stems are, but after reading this post I was wondering if I had the diamond shape that Conroe was talking about. I want to get radial tires soon and don't want to find out later that I need a weird kind of valve stem that are hard to find.  Maybe mine ARE oval (1946) I will take a closer look tonight when I get home and see if I can tell.

I have oval valve stem holes in my '52 dodge rims. I got stems from patchboy.com.  Yjey have a large selection of stems.
