Dodgeb4ya Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Check out these new gas tanks for 1949-52 all mopar cars-except wagons -I think it's a six cylinder tank... Capacity of 17 gallons. Looks pretty nice. Tough to find good used ones. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-1950-1951-1952-MOPAR-fuel-tank-NEW-steel-reproduction-/331108755005 Bob Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 good deal...a few people I know to be looking may well be pleased....I like it that the tank is original looking and not just a steel box.... Quote
Don Coatney Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Good to see someone making reproductions. I wonder how much difference there is between that tank and a P-15 tank? Too bad it is for 6 cylinder cars only. The guys who have installed V-8's are out of luck Quote
ggdad1951 Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 they need to make truck ones...ones that look right with the "hump" Quote
busycoupe Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 It looks like the opening for the sender unit is in a different location than on the older tanks. If the size is the same, that may be the only difference. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Riiight........looks like the sender opening is farther to the passenger side than a P15. Don't know how hard that would be to change. Looks a if they could easily produce the P15 tank with minimal re-tooling. I think that of the new tanks O'Reilly auto supply sells, one for an older Mustang is closest to the P15....but also needs mods. I sure do not care for those big smooth rectangular box types. Quote
