Where have our old vehicles gone, trucks and cars. 1954 and below please. Enjoy

edit: The photos do not have to be recent. If you''ve been there we want to see. A lot of us are close to Yosemite, we ought to have a gathering there. Be cool to have 20 - 25 old Mopars in the setting Todd has shown.  We could make it a pot-luck and have a party! Any one interested. The falls are full in the spring, say early May.

Am I to pick up the bull or take it there?

Paul;

Was it you that escaped from Alcatraz ? :lol: If so and you have managed to escape detection all these years....Bravo!

Don't take your truck there.......it will just get rusty.

Jeff

How about taking it on the ferry, and get it on the island and take some pics. Did they have any vehicles on the island itself, must have.

I have seen it from the bridge, but that was many years ago..

I don't think the SF Bay has had vehicle ferries since the completion of the Bay and Golden Gate bridges in the 1930s. The commercial ferry route to "the Rock" is passenger only. I don't know what they do when they need to transport a vehicle to or from the place.

I was just at Alcatraz on November 26 (vacationing in San Francisco) and they did have an older chevy truck (id say it was 40's era) parked down by the dock. It looked to be in pretty good condition and did run and drive because it wasnt in the same place in the afternoon as it was when i got to the island around 9:30 am. I loved going to visit Alcatraz my favorite part of the trip, got to meet an ex-convict that was signing books there, very cool.

Haha if i had known it was you Paul we could of talked trucks for awhile.

The title of the book is "Alcatraz 1259" and the authors name is William Baker (ex-Alcatraz convict), i read it on the plane ride back to MA it was pretty good book. Interesting to here about life at the Rock from the point of view of some one who was actually behind the bars.
