pflaming Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Interesting how detailed the artist made the truck and how generic the cars. Must have been a Dodge Ad piece. 2 Quote
RobertKB Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 Turkey looks good too. Turkeys never look good or taste good in my book. I always pass on the turkey at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Love everything else that goes with the meal though like stuffing, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, cranberry, turnip, etc. Quote
BigDaddyO Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Turnip over Turkey...what are you, a Canadian? Quote
RobertKB Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Turnip over Turkey...what are you, a Canadian? Yes, and we had our Thanksgiving over a month ago, always second Monday in October. Never liked turkey and not a big fan of chicken. Guess I am just a red meat lover. LOL Quote
1940plymouth Posted November 24, 2013 Author Report Posted November 24, 2013 RobertKB, I would rather have a ham over turkey also, and I love turnip, only one in the house that does, plus dressing tastes darn good with ham gravey Quote
pflaming Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) On the Nebraska ranch in the 50's we had Musgove Ducks. Mom would dress a duck, then lay it over the breast of the turkey and roast them together. The duck fat peneetrated the turkey and the two together were simply 'out of the box'. edit: now if we had had a dlilla on the side, we could slice that meat and make some delicious jerky out of it!!! Dan Hiebert Posted November 26, 2013 Report Posted November 26, 2013 Smoked turkey usually wins over folks that don't like "regular" turkey very much. Drat - now I'm hungry. Quote
