De Soto Frank Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 Here's some quick photos of my early Silex, circa 1920. It does work, and even makes a tasty cup or coffee, but is more useful as a patent model than as a volume producer of hot beverages... Quote

busycoupe Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 When I was in college I worked part time in a machine shop. It was small place, 5or 6 guys, but they had a 100 cup percolator! They made coffee on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon. By wed. noon or fri. afternoon the coffee was pretty strong. The guys called it "Navy coffee". Dave Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Navy coffee.......it's evident that these guys did not drink their coffee in the ward room..... Quote
