ssnowden Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 I actually found quite a few Mopars today. I even found some Plymouth Suburbans. Here are some photos. https://plus.google.com/photos/107394537078274784684/albums/5907998200310413809?authkey=CIaN46GcyKvurgE Quote
58prostreet Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 Great pictures. Thanks for posting. Bob Quote
Greenbomb Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 Yeah, great pics. They made me wonder how much money gets spent on this hobby each year. gotta be a bunch! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 The GTS and the 61 Plymouth wagon were a couple of my favorite here..thanks Quote
ssnowden Posted August 4, 2013 Author Report Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) The 51 Suburban was as sharp in person as in the photos. This 42 Sumac colored beauty was actually a resto-mod. It had a big hemi in it and modern running gear. I talked to the owner and he's not an Internet kind of guy, and he said he has all the original running gear he would sell. He invited me to come over, so when he's ready I'll go and take some pics and post what I find he has for sale. Edited August 4, 2013 by ssnowden Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 I saw the 53 and the 54, the 61 and the mid 60's Dodge wagon...no see the 51 Suburban..as an owner of a 51 'burb, would love to see pics on one... Quote
ssnowden Posted August 4, 2013 Author Report Posted August 4, 2013 Maybe it's wrong, but the window sticker on this one said '51. I don't know them well enough to tell the difference yet. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) where was that hiding in the page you posted the link too...did not see that..but..don't care for the shave nose on the hood...and with all the work into the body as shown why the stupid looking scavenger style exhaust pipe..why take a short cut here....? bet it was SBC powered..they love to take these short cuts for some reason...never figured out the slighting of the exhaust system on their build on the average Edited August 4, 2013 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
Young Ed Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 Yup they went through a bunch to change the bottom edge of the hood to eliminate the plymouth badge there. I think I would have upgraded to the cranbrook windshield stainless. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) in the wagon line up the chrome about the windshield and the belt line down the sides is what made the wagon bump into the higher class model known as the Savoy...the Cambridge and Cranbrook were models to the larger wheelbase chassis for the year..the shorter 111WB Corcord did not share the names.. Scruffy49 Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 Well, my favorites are the green 1968 Utiline and the yellow A100 trucks. Some interesting cars in the mix as well, but the trucks do it for me. And right or not, I'd drive the red Suburban mod-rod. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 4, 2013 Report Posted August 4, 2013 it just represents cut corners to me is my only statement of observation...you can readily see a lot of time and money thrown into the project to end up with the stigmatized look Quote
