flint52 Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 Well 4th time i finally got the correct king pin, (caps have been to small all along, never had a reason to even try those out.) now the "larger caps" are to big. getting ridiculous, anyone know where i could get a set of caps locally for a 50 dodge meadowbrook? apparently there is at least three different sizes Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 perhaps if you state the size you in need of folks can see if they have said item laying about..it would however seem to be a question to the retailer you sourced you parts through...large small and average relates to eggs easily but not precision match components.. I've sent an email as thats all available right now to Robert Motor parts just dont have alot of faith in it right now other then just getting a random set shipped. Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 I believe 1" is correct and if I recall I got new ones at Autozone. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 flint, what were the size of the originals you removed..could you mic these..or at minimum mic the hole for the size you need...I like you would think they would have the correct caps in stock..but again, his retails kits may have been made in an earlier time or being repopped..if repopped..there is hopefully a source for your item in question... I found one of my originals and they are 1" but i drilled the two top ones out when i went to remove the king pins. Called Autozone, napa, and schucks all no longer show any king pins for a 50 meadowbrook Quote
Young Ed Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) I believe Napa was able to get me Dorman plugs in the proper size. My kingpin set also came from them. This part number still comes on at napas website. I don't know that my 48 plymouth uses the same kingpins as a 50 dodge though. Edited June 15, 2013 by Young Ed Quote

Should be able to walk into any half decent auto supply or industrial supply and get as many as you need. If you ask for a part for a '50 Dodge it will simply confuse the matter, ask for a welch/freeze plug for a 1" (or what ever you carefully measured) hole. Quote
