LAKOTA169 Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 Saw a '48 Tucker today. It was #1015. The fifteenth of only 51 made. Our POC went to a private car museum along with members of WPC club. It was a nice 72 mile drive for my '37. Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 Did you buy it??? Great looking car. What are they going for these days? Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted May 26, 2013 Author Report Posted May 26, 2013 Did you buy it??? Great looking car. What are they going for these days? If they would have had it in red or black, I might have considered it. This guy has a great collection of cars. Cords, Auburns, Packards, Duesys, and even an Isetta. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 There's one in the museum up in Hartford, WI about 30 miles north of me. They are interesting cars. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 Tucker enthusiasts are a very close-knit group and track the cars constantly. At one point I mentioned a particular car I'd seen forty or more years ago to a Tucker fan and he told me what number it is, who owned it, and what color it was repainted. This would be pretty difficult with our Mopars since millions of them were bult. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 When I was a kid I ust to go up to Sutro Baths in San Francisco by the Cliff house and they had one of these on display there. I was only around 10 years old but I was impressed with that car way back then. The guy was way ahead of himself with the design of this car and where would be if the big three had not did him a number. Just a plain cool car! I love the crash zone in frount of the passenger seat. If you do not know what I mean there was a area just between you and the dash and if you had enough time you could drop down into that area and take cover.
