I have "windows" soft ware. To post I need to down size my pics. A nice step by step explanation would be greatly appreciated.

PF,

I don't know for certain myself, but the first thing I would try is right-clicking on the picture to bring up "properties" and see if it can be down-sized from there.  If that doesn't work then you just saved me from being the one who has to ask.

There are several resizing accessories on the web.  chose a free one, load your pic, resize it, do a save as to your desk top.  The utility will probably give you several choices like for email, for discussion boards, etc.  Choose discussion board/forum, it will likely give you a direct link to allow you to copy paste to the forum tool box.   Save the pic to your desk top just in case.  From your desk top you can then load it as a thumbnail attachement, it the direct link should fail.  I usually then make a folder on the desktop and place those things to keep them handy.

I use the free Photobucket and it automatically downsizes the pictures. Then just copy the direct link URL and add it to your post.

If using windows and you are not into online photo hosting and have your photos on your home computer, use PAINT, under the accessories tab on your computer and reside them as needed and then just save as in a online hosting photo folder..nothing to download..no online services...
