BobT-47P15 Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 You may not necessarily like the car, but at least someone went to a bit of trouble to customize something besides a Ford or Chevy. Quote
alteredpilot Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 Excellent! great profile. i love the rear window choice. good call on not frenching the headlights. woulda made the front end look like a lump of clay. now if it was just a couple of inches off the ground it wouldnt look broken. RobertKB Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 I like '53 Plymouths as I own one, but that car would not make it through my garage door. Only thing I like about it is the colour. Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 Hmm. I've never cared for the on-the-ground stuff, but this is a nice take on that '49 Mercury lead sled genre I rather like the lines of this one better than a Merc. Seems cleaner and less clunky - as noted, doesn't look like a lump of clay. Quote
40P10touring sedan Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 Nice! I'd rather see a set of mid 50s desoto or chrysler taillights on it though...those seem too small to me. ...she's definately bagged to drop down like that....any motor or interior shots? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 23, 2012 Author Report Posted November 23, 2012 No additional shots......the only ones on the thread posted by the photographer. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 25, 2012 Report Posted November 25, 2012 just how many ways can you really look at ugly..one shot is twice as much as we need here.. Quote
falconvan Posted November 25, 2012 Report Posted November 25, 2012 Looks good! a liitle low for my taste but nice otherwise. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 25, 2012 Report Posted November 25, 2012 folks all have different taste..the low on the ground was my biggest drawback from a "good" rating..lots of work into its creation though..will never sell them short on that.. Quote
hkestes41 Posted November 25, 2012 Report Posted November 25, 2012 For some reason the skirts look just a bit off to me. Can't quite put my finger on it but maybe it is the flare at the bottom. Other than that they did a great job on the car and I would drive the wheels off that thing if it were mine. Quote
alteredpilot Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 yeah, the skirts look 'off' because of the angle between the front and rear lower corners of the wheel opening. if they were 'straight' across they would be perfect. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 I think this wagon is a 54......lifted from carnut.com.......... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 Looks like originally a 49 Dodge....... Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 guess I am just not into the top chop...not saying it does not streamline the car and such and it a great amount of work in customizing..but I have seen the guys who do these job..they ride around with their chins buried into their chest and their nose inches off the steering wheel..to high a cost for cool in my book..I like to sit back and be fomfortable while on the cruise.. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 28, 2012 Author Report Posted November 28, 2012 I agree.....a chopped top is not necessarily good looking on every type of car. And may not be too comfy....especially for taller guys. Here's about the "most far out" P15 remodel I've ever seen. Pic taken at Kansas City Goodguys show in 2007....... I prefer cars done more like this............ Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 28, 2012 Report Posted November 28, 2012 the blue one is just a bit too homogonized..the lightly accented red car leaves the line in place..I mean its' this that makes the car..but then he could have done much better without the frenched lights..they look so "after-thought"..the windshield still has the divider line look though I know he would have preferred to have otherwise..I would have left the chrome in place..after all, he left the hood center chrome..(of course butterfly hood hinge was probably the main factor behind this..)
