pflaming
I saw a Mercury truck in one of the magazines yesterday. I didn't know such existed. I think it was a late 50's model. Edit: I just looked them up on Google. They were making Mercury trucks in the '30's and into the 60's. Didn't know that. 55 Fargo
I saw a Mercury truck in one of the magazines yesterday. I didn't know such existed. Last Truck My paternal Grandfather had was a 64 Mercury 3/4 ton pickup, 6 cyl 4 speed. The Mercury truck line was discontinued after 1972,73 or so. As mentioned nothing more than a rebadged Ford truck for Canadian market only. You Guys had the Plym trucks, we did not, we had Fargo trucks, you Guys did not. Hey remember the Chevy Luv Trucks, made by Isuzu, you had em, we did not, I always wanted 1 of those too.........

The Mercury trucks were to Ford, as Fargo's were to dodge. You could get them up here, but not down there. A local dude just brought home a 57 mercury 1/2 ton. It's pretty cool. Dave72dt
you sure that wasn't a lincoln? Could have been. Saw one on the lot passing by and didn't bother checking it out very close. Since the plain jane Fords were out of my reach, I knew that new Lincoln/Mercury would be way beyond. Orange County Choppers thrashed one on one of their shows. They didn't destroy it but I wouldn't want the one they "test drove".

South American Ford plant products had different design elements in that what was available north of Mexico. I'm sure other manufacturer's did the same. Built to meet the needs of the customer base, sometimes a badging change, sometimes design differences.

Jim Shepard
I saw a Mercury truck in one of the magazines yesterday. I didn't know such existed. Vintage Truck magazine has had several articles on these over the years. I saw one up in the hills near my home a few years back and photographed it next to my PH...
