JerseyHarold Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 We were going through a batch of vintage electronic parts that I got years ago and came across this device. At first I was completely stumped by what it is, but now I'm thinking it's a car battery cell tester. Am I on the right track or completely off base? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 loosk like we got a name for it now...check this ad.. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=battery+cell+tester&_sacat=0&_odkw=battery+cell+yrster&_osacat=0 Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 Aha! We've got one of those in the "old tools section" of the office's garage. Knew it was electrical (duh) but didn't know just what it is for. We've still got some tools from back when our Buffalo Sector HQ was first in a facility with our own auto mechanics - 1936 or so. No idea what we'll do with them, but I won't let the mechanics get rid of them. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 sell them to the CIA..could be easily modified for extracting the truth...did I say that...not me...I think I read that somewhere..tool you never get rid of..even the old out dated one just because of the cool factor... Quote
greg g Posted August 6, 2012 Report Posted August 6, 2012 Back when batteries had tar filling the probes were uses to push through the tar to contact the the bridges between the cells. They were ment ot gauge the output of each cell. Quote
