Used to have one like that too. Used it for cooking 4 tube steaks at a time over a campfire.

As part of our plymouth club national last fall we put on a tour to a local toaster collector. I didnt go that time as I had been before but it was neat to see his entire building devoted to toasters.

I have a very old vintage toater here at the house..it is a kitch decor item..I do think it would work as the cord looks serviceable..just never have tried it..its stainless steel adn very ornate carvings..for me, it's just a collector item for a 1908 vintage house..not sure i could spend a lot of time just looking at toasters though..

Tim at the cabin we use one the triangle shaped ones with the flip down sides. Only cooks 1 side at a time but once you get it going it cooks them fast! Will give you a heck of a burn if you touch the top of it( found out the hard way)
