shakespearesdad Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 I am moving to San Francisco, and must sell my one-family-owned '53 Plymouth Cranbrook 4-dr, with overdrive. Original: paint, interior, engine, transmission. NO RUST. Sold new to my Grandma in New Mexico in 1953. Been in Texas since 2009. Always garaged, for 59 years! I am unsure what would be the best place to advertise my car. eBay is too expensive, CL is hit or miss, any suggestions? The car will start and run, (smokes) but has NO brakes. Overdrive works. Any ideas for experienced car sellers would be appreciated. Thanks, James Quote
TodFitch Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 If you could manage to keep the car and move it to the Bay Area I'm sure it would be welcome on our local tours and events. Quote
Young Ed Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Thats a pretty cool family heirloom to let go for a move. No hope of keeping it? Craigslist is certainly one option. Free- probably get a bunch of tirekickers but it does work. Hemmings is another option not sure what that costs. Your car is probably a little too nice for the cheaper project car ads. Quote
shakespearesdad Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 I really hate to sell the car, and since it has no brakes, moving it is problematic. It would make a great project for someone. It is like my cats I'm forced to try to re-home, the price is secondary to finding them a good home. I would sell for a very fair price to the "right" person. I had an offer from someone that just wanted the overdrive and was gonna parts out the car. I just dont want to know... Quote
