40Dodgesurvivor Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 If you are like me you probably check ebay frequently. It is so frustrating to see something of interest but the asking pricing is obscene. Some vendors I would never do business with because of their pricing. Well after using the "advanced" button on the search line I was able to exclude one of these sellers and now when I look for my items I am not angered anymore. I also set the system up to show me new items first. You guys have probably already done all this but what a difference it makes. I now know how to get rid of obscene sellers!! Back to the beauty of the hunt in a hobby I love. Quote
Bingster Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Yeah, there is one guy on ebay who really must be joking, the prices he's asking for parts. Nobody ever seems to buy them, either. Although did you guys see the Snyder sun visor that went for a little over $2,000 from a starting price of $199? And it was an aftermarket visor sold by Montgomery Ward!! Quote
maverick Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 i have done the same thing, and it makes ebay a much better experience. Quote
Eneto-55 Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Is there a way to customize the search to make it like it used to be? For instance, I could set up one single search for all of the cars and years of personal interest. For me this included Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, & DeSoto, and the years 1942, 1946-1948, 1957-1962. (chrysler, plymouth, dodge, desoto) (1942, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962) Quote
greg g Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 I have my initial search set ups for 194* plymouth. the * repaces the numbers 0-9 thus all items matiching ay 1940's year comes up. currently that search yields 3200+ items. If I replace plymouth with mopar I get 2200+ items some repeats some different. If I replace Plymouth with dodge returns 3800+ items Desoto trims the list down to 1700 + items but includes a pair of vintage rain gutter clamp on fishing rod holders not on the other lists. Chrysler gives up 2900 items. Changing to 195* pulls up well you get the idea Quote
TR Waters Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 If you do your search such as 1949 Plymouth, add a space and type: -fits 1949 Plymouth -fits That will help eliminate the 10,000 seat covers, floor mats, etc. 1 Quote
