p15 rocker trim substitute?

considering the high price and scarcity of p15 rocker trim has anyone adapted trim from another car? i've looked at a bunch of e-bay listings and there are a lot of long stainless molding available. but without having it front of me it's hard to get an feel for it's adaptability. just wondering if somebody has done this and can offer some advice. by the way my car is not stock but i do want stock(ish) rockers.

thanks

I utilized pvc extruded molding from the home imp store. The ranch casing (i think thats what it called) has a very similar profile and size and can be shaped easily. I painted mine satin black. But they might take that new "chrome" paint as well. mounted it upside down so the thin side face the ground using double sided trim tape. Cut, filed, and sanded the front end to mimic the shape of the original.
