Labrauer Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Ok Guys, Can anyone tell me what the little round thing on the back of my gas gauge is and what is it's purpus? It has current going through it and that is all I know. Gas gauge fluxuates from full to a half and quarter of a tank I was just woundering if it is the cause. Thanks, Larry Edited January 25, 2012 by Labrauer Quote
Labrauer Posted January 25, 2012 Author Report Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Why would that have anything to do with the radio. I would think if it was for it that it would be located on the radio it's self and not the gas gauge. I know other people that run radio's in their car and don't have one of these attached to the gas gauge so in my opinon it is something else but as I said I don't know what it is so you might be right how knows. BobT-47P15 Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Was the car ever converted to 12 volt? Could it be a voltage reducer? What prompted the radio comment? Quote
Young Ed Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 I'm not sure what it does either but I believe all the p15 fuel gauges have it. Here's one I sent to a fellow forum member. And the back of my personal dash with the fuel gauge and the "unit" in question on the far left. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 I withdrew my post as it fell on deaf ears...as I stated it is for radio interference noise supression....I feel I owe the originator nothing as he choose not to listen..his right...but he also was the one inquiring..why discount those in the know even when you are not... but for the others who ask..here it is.. see post 6 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=15149&highlight=radio+supressor Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Veeery Innteresting.........to quote an old tv show. I don't ever recall seeing such a resistor, capacitor or whatever attached to that gauge. Or anywhere under dashes I've seen. I was under the impression that the noise suppressor went on the generator......if needed. Just shows there are still new things to learn about old Mopars..... right here on this forum. Quote
Frank Elder Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Thank you Tim....I have a radio delete car so I learned something also:) Quote
DCurrent Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Having not really looked under a dash of a 48 and not owning one yet, that said, what does that button do that is black and looks like it pushes up? Darren I'm not sure what it does either but I believe all the p15 fuel gauges have it. Here's one I sent to a fellow forum member. And the back of my personal dash with the fuel gauge and the "unit" in question on the far left. Quote
