Plymouthy Adams Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Last swap meet of the year for me....was a good event, nice weather, record number of venders....came up two sets of these...one set was 60.00 and man would not budge off the price, passed on them...second set, as pictured, I bought..I got a kink in my neck from having to keep looking over my shoulder for the police...2.00 for the pair...deal of the day... get out to the swap meet boys..still deals to be had... randroid Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Tim, Great deal! I want a pair of those so bad I can almost taste it! In my book $60 would have been cheap. -Randy (PS: What the hell are they?) Quote
greg g Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 so if you had bought the other set the average price would have been 31.00 right about par........... Randy check the furd parts places for F1 and early F100 mounts. Basically the same, easier pricing. Quote
littlemo Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Sorry Tim, I just had to make the call and give them your address !!! lol... Cass, alias littlemo PS. You should be ashamed of yourself !!! Ha! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 19, 2011 Author Report Posted November 19, 2011 now to really let you know about the awesome guy he was..these were on a "make offer" table.......I offered him 20.00..he said no...2.00....he just wanted them to just be put to use..so really I do not feel bad as the man set his own price..but I am pleased to have these..I went there hoping to find a set..one of the top ten items on my shopping list... Bill Ford Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Tim, what did you buy? I don't recognize them. Probably need some myself. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 19, 2011 Author Report Posted November 19, 2011 Bill...these are the upper shock mounts from a '50 Ford F1..they are perfect for when you relocate the shocks on our old Plymouths..this makes for a world of difference in ride and handling.. Quote
Bill Ford Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Tim, I had thought of replaceing the shocks on my P-15. I was going to replace just like I had. Is there a better way? Quote
Bill Ford Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Tim, I need to replace the shocks on my P-15. I was going back with what I had. Is there a better way? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 19, 2011 Author Report Posted November 19, 2011 The relocation of the shock is a huge improvement over stock placement..there be a few ways one can do this..I personally think this is the easiest method and is totally reversable compared to welding..of course..everyone has their own thoughts on these mods...this is just my opinion.. greg g Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 Bill, Jim Yergen did this conversion recently with some good picture documentation. You might want to search for the thread he posted, or send him a PM regarding his experience, and pros and cons. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 I bought a set off ebay quite a while back......the neighbor found the package containing them in his yard after the tornado. So, I still have them. Of course, they aren't helping anything at this point. But.... eventually........ Quote
yourpc48 Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 My brother has a F series truck and has a extra front end. He said he would look to see if he had mounts on the other front end for me. Can anyone tell me what shock to use with the relocated shock mounts? Thanks... Quote
