greg g Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 For those who missed it in Chet's thread, 3 of us have commited to meeting in Roscoe, NY Sunday morning at 10 for breakfast at the World Famous Roscoe Diner on Rt 17. A couple of others have shown an interest. So whether your car or truck is ready to travel, or not, show up in your daily driver if you want. Friends and Spouses are welcomed as well. Bob, Chet and I will be driving our Plymouths, and Mark D may bring Ruby out from Massachusetes as well. The more the merrier, be there or Be Square. Quote
Mark D Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Close to providing an answer - stay tuned... Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Mark, hope you and Ruby can make it, suppose to be a nice weekend. Chet, what time you do plan on leaving home for NYC to see your Sister-in-law. Please tell her that she is still in my prayers every night. Everyone please have a safe trip Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 be square...make mine a fudge brownie.. Quote
Mark D Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Can't convince the bride to join me so I'm going it alone. Looks like 245 miles. Gonna point the car towards Great Barrington on the Mass Pike, then from there over back roads to Rhinebeck. Seems to be Marriot Courtyard in that area. Next AM I'll head to Roscoe via Bob Drowns house. Wish me luck! Quote
greg g Posted October 22, 2011 Author Report Posted October 22, 2011 Will be great to see you again. About 120 miles fo me, supposed to be in the 30's in the AM. guess the heater will get a work out. Should be working it's way toward 60 by the time the toast pops up. Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 yes, they are calling for a frost here tomorrow morning, everyone have a safe trip. Mark, keep us posted when possible Quote
Mark D Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Been a great ride so far. Left Bolton, MA at 1:10p and arrived Rhinebeck, NY at 4:40p. Traveled 495 south to 90 west to Lee, MA. Left the highway there and did route 7 southwest to Kingston, NY and crossed the Hudson river. Parked in what appears to be a safe (albeit pricey) Holiday Inn for the night. Tomorrow it up early to meet up with Bob in Neversink, (maybe a quick covered bridge photo op?) then on from there to Roscoe to meet Greg and Chet. Now out to grab a pizza for supper. Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Hay all, I made it to NYC. The pot holes were trying to eat up my car but so far everything is OK. I will head out some time after 6:30 AM. Cheers, Chet... Quote
Mark D Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Good to hear from you chet! Just hung up with Greg, sounds like we'll all be turning heads very early tomorrow morning. Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Mark, there is a covered bridge in Livingston Manor, we'll be driving right by it on the way to Roscoe. Chet, glad you made it to NYC Glad you both are stopped for the night and have a safe trip today Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 The whole ride I was going over in my head every nut bolt and screw I touched over the last 6 years wondering if I tightened all of them. Hopefully I will see you all tomorrow. Chet... Quote
greg g Posted October 22, 2011 Author Report Posted October 22, 2011 Chet just remember my 50 Mile theory. Everything will be fine for the first 50 miles, then also the next 50 and so on. Clock set for 6:30, on the road by 7:00. If I am not there exactly at 10, start without me. Gonna be 120 miles for me depending on what turns I choose. Map site says 2hours and 30 minutes. Quote
oldodge41 Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Really wish I could make it. Guess I am just a wannabe. Quote
Mark D Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Great meeting you too Ron. Life is all about the side trips and the road less traveled. Ruby serves as a great catalyst for me in that capacity. So many fine members on this site, and at least a half dozen new friends met over this weekend. Glad you reached out to say hello, it saved me from a very boring evening. Was awesome to visit your cars and see some true time capsules awaiting rebirth. Dont wait too long to get going, lifes short, and driving these old gals is a blast. Quote
greg g Posted October 23, 2011 Author Report Posted October 23, 2011 (edited) See now that is what this is about in a nut shell "Ruby serves as a great catalyst for me in that capacity. So many fine members on this site, and at least a half dozen new friends met over this weekend." and that leads to "I have moved "getting a Plymouth running and driveable" waaay up on my list. " See its about way more than a road trip with breakfast. not wannabe, howabout gonnabe, next time. Edited October 23, 2011 by greg g Quote
Mark D Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 ... This is a much better group than the occupy wall street group. Tents and bullhorns just aren't my style. Quote
greg g Posted October 23, 2011 Author Report Posted October 23, 2011 Is this nostalgia drags up in the Albany area? Pictures please if you go. Quote

Don Coatney Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 I mapped the trip and it would be just shy of 1000 miles. My wife Lisa is in Buffalo this week grandmothering. I probably should have hit the road Friday AM but it was not to be. Hope you guys all get full bellies. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 I would have been there except the Chinook is being serviced this weekend..and if you blieve that I got a case of floor shifters I will sell ya..enjoy the meal and fellowship..drink a cup of coffee for me..but most of all be careful out there on the road.. oldodge41 Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Only about 250 miles for me. Not the old car holding me back. Just life getting in the way right now. At least we get to follow along on others adventures through this forum. Quote
1940plymouth Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 We all had a good trip, and there were no problems with Chet, Mark or Greg. Here is one photo, I'll let the other guys post more. It was good seeing Greg again and meeting Mark and Chet Thanks fellas Quote
