yourpc48 Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Finally got to meet with the guy that had the 48 P15 that recently came to the area. I was hoping to see him at todays car show. He doesnt do internet so we will not be seeing him here. He owns the beige Coupe here. Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 7, 2011 Author Report Posted August 7, 2011 Then there was a classic hotrod version from Roseburg Oregon. I hope to have him on the forum soon. Hes leaving it as old school as he can. He doesnt like the internet but I will be getting him a link to the forum through his wife. He wants to get some headlight rings that dont have the outer fender stainless strip cutouts. He was told there was a base model that didnt come with the fender strips so there was no cutout on the outside edge of the trim ring. I dont know if thats true or if anyone has some but thats just one of the things I thought he could find out here. Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 7, 2011 Author Report Posted August 7, 2011 Then there was mine. I really need to put a fender cover on my car when I work on it. Notice how my belt buckle has scraped off the paint on the drivers fender. I love the look after cutting my front springs but I will need to put some spacers in on each side because it hits just a little with big bumps. Quote

I hope he joins in on this forum. Quote
greg g Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Don't know of any p15's built without front fender trim. So it seems he's on a wild goose chase with the head light bezels. It looks like the 42's which still have fender trim may just have the pieces butting together. Quote

Might be able to try a D25 headlight ring. Otherwise the few guys I've seen without that hole there have taken a third ring and cut patches out of it to weld into those spots. There were aftermarket rings back probably in the 60s and its possible some of those may have been made without that cutout for the customizers. Quote
busycoupe Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 D24 headlight trim rings have no cut-outs in them, If they are wide enough they would probably clamp on with no problem. Mine have a hook at the top and a screw at the bottom to secure them. Dave Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 7, 2011 Author Report Posted August 7, 2011 Thanks for the info guys. I gave them my card with my email on it and will give them links to this forum and Mopar Dave at Fat Fendered Relics. Quote
NatesSedan Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Where was this show located? We hope to come over again this year for "Cruise the Coos" We had a blast year before last. Shore Acres has to be one of the best spots for a car show ever. If we can get my father in law to come over as well we could have 5 p-15s!! We also know 3 other guys over here. Maybe it is time for a NW p-15 club. Quote
carls 49 Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 nice pics, thanks. ....................... get something to put on the fender when you work on it is a must. Quote

I needed another couple of weeks. Theres was 150ish cars that were there. Your right. A club might be in order soon. We should probably allow D24s in as well.... Quote
yourpc48 Posted August 7, 2011 Author Report Posted August 7, 2011 There was a huge Dodge Cabover truck but I didnt get a picture of it. One of the few I missed. I have worked on their computers before and the wife wants me to come out to the house to fix some things so I will try to get pics If they call me to go out. Quote

I used to live down in your area. Hawthorne, Manhatten Beach, Marina del Rey, El Segundo. I lived in those places as a kid. Quote
