OT end of life planning discussion OT

We were sitting around having a family discussion and the talked turned to life support as some of us are getting up there in age. I said that I didn't want heroic means or artificial life support for an indefinate period. If it got to the point where it looked as there was no reasonable hope of recovery, I did not want to depend on an electronic box and depend of fluids being pumped into me. Just pull the plug.

My daughter got up, came over removed my beer and unplugged my computer. I'm sill a bit pi$$ed at her.............

When the time comes, which it will, ever think what will happen to your stuff. All those parts you have rat holed will probably end up in the trash. Stan

I went through that with my brother when he passed 25 years ago. He had a Olds Toronado project going along with a parts car and this Saab that only he or I could get to run. We could drive it anywhere, but no one else could even get it out of the driveway.

I lucked out getting rid of the Olds stuff, but it was really hard to get rid of the Saab junk. I ended up selling it for scrap so at least his wife got something.

did I miss anything here, someone check into the Bates Motel?

I plan to leave the biggest collection of mismatch stuff ever seen on the face of the earth for my two kids to sort though..payback for not cleaning their rooms when growing up...I swore I would get even one day and this seems my best chance at doing just that...daughter said, be nice to me Ipick out your retirement home..I said, no, be nice to me as i am the one that determines if you have an inheirtance or not...(visualize eyes widening at this point and a fault in the breathing pattern)

In talking with my wife I told her I thought I should start selling all my stuff. If I pass before she does she will most likely re-marry and I told her I did not want some other a$$ hole messing with all my stuff.

She simply said "what makes you think I will marry another a$$ hole?"

Greg;

Let that be a lesson; be careful what you say around the children- they are listening to your every word.

( I am assuming her response denotes that the apple didn't fall very far from the tree!!)

Greg,

I told my wife that if I crap my paints then take me out and shoot me. After giving it much thought.., I told her she better wait until the second time.

I hope this helps.

Chet…
