ggdad1951 Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) well the '51 on the road for the first time in over 30 years! "Some guy" has permagrin! http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/ggdad1951/?action=view¤t=pullingout.mp4 http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/ggdad1951/?action=view¤t=downthedriveway.mp4 http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/ggdad1951/?action=view¤t=benview.mp4 Edited August 1, 2011 by ggdad1951 Quote
Desotodav Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Good job Mark. I almost expected 'some guy' to be wearing a mask whilst conducting his illegal activities! What an exciting moment. Great video clip/s too. Well done mate! Desotodav Quote
ggdad1951 Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 yah, I was going to have a helmet on to keep the mystery alive, but to dang hot! Besides "some guy" has 8 fingers, two thumbs and HUGE smile! More pics and videos to come. After the drive(s) we reset the tappets so she runs nice and quiet now. Altho the promised loud rear end was present (was warned she'd be a howler). Thanks to all my friends here and not here who helped me get to where I am! BTW, you'll see Young Ed in a few... Quote
ggdad1951 Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 longer and better quality video below. Seems I need to learn/remember how to double clutch! Hard when the pedals return to far w/ no floor board to keep them forward. Bit of brake noise up front and some odd hiccups for a tich, but http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/ggdad1951/?action=view¤t=firstdrive.mp4 Quote
48Dodger Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Awesome Mark! Great big smile too....what I think we're all shooting for...lol. 48D:D Quote
coW52Dodge Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Very nice - congratulations! One plus is that you don't need AC with a ride like that.. Quote
raidmagic Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Very cool, not much better than the first ride! Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Was that Ed in the "passenger seat"? Looked like 'im. Also looks like he needed a seat belt. I remember those moments fondly. Wish I could have been there. Merle Quote

Wish I could have been there. Merle Yup I rode along for the first voyage. I did take notice of the fact that no passenger seat was provided. Couple others took a ride too after they saw I survived. After the first two trips he even stopped carrying the fire extinguisher. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 I got a chuckle out of the fuel storage unit too. I guess it worked, but it looks kind of hairy hanging off the front. I used a boat tank sitting on the platform next to me. Merle Quote
Young Ed Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 We quickly discovered the pint sized bottle he had originally rigged wasn't enough so the upgrade to the ~2gal was done. Quote

Young Ed Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 . I used a boat tank sitting on the platform next to me. Merle Are you saying I should have given up my co-pilot seat to a gastank?? Quote
