Don Coatney Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 I am a little slow at times. When I was a kid I always thought that fire men started fires because everytime I heard the siren and saw the big red truck there was always a fire. Quote
55 Fargo Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 I am a little slow at times. When I was a kid I always thought that fire men started fires because everytime I heard the siren and saw the big red truck there was always a fire. Thats because people called tham "Fireman", which were the Guys feeding coal into the fire on steam engines. "firefighters", are the guys in the red trucks going to put out the fires......................LOL Quote

Me, too. maybe I saw or heard of firemen setting fire to abandoned structures for practice, but didn't understand the whole story. Quote

Anyone here besides me ever done a rubber raft on the Gauley? Does the Iron Ring ring a bell? Edited July 25, 2011 by Don Coatney Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 never done a raft down the Gauley..but it is a very scenic river.. Quote
Flatie46 Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 Don't think that's for me, I liked the laid back paddlin' down the Clinch. Got my little picnic packed with cheese crackers and twinkies. Checkin out the scenery. The wife did something like that in Alaska, I think she said it was rated like a 3 or 4. You guys can have the butt clinching stuff, when I'm vacatin I'm lookin' to relax. yourpc48 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 Holy Crap! I found a picture of this car on hemmings. The ad shows the same picture. The ad says the car is super rare and there were only 12 of that style made. Its a dual carb model. They want $20k for it. WOW!!! I noticed one of the posts said the car had been sitting for a while. That might be why. It might be worth it to the right person but thats a lot of money to invest in a project car. Quote
Young Ed Posted July 27, 2011 Author Report Posted July 27, 2011 Ya 20k and there isn't even a picture of a huge pile of all the stuff not connected. Being a rare car if it has all the pieces I could see someone paying that much. They also had NOS in a crate left side of a Cobra. That was big $$$$$$ too. Quote
Flatie46 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Posted July 27, 2011 It'd take Leno's bankroll to fix that car, I'd say there would be $10,000 in just chrome. Then there may be some "rare" parts that were only found on that car. If it were me I'd at least blast it and shoot some primer on it. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted July 30, 2011 Report Posted July 30, 2011 Anyone here besides me ever done a rubber raft on the Gauley? Does the Iron Ring ring a bell? You know I see this stuff on the news and wonder what these people are thinking. If I want to risk my life I'll let my wife catch me cheating. The bodies found 2 weeks later with no clothes or shoes on. Quote
