I think Ed is correct. The relay looks like this.

Is that one missing the top that holds the fuse in?

Nope I think its there.

Correct, I was just looking for a quick picture to show the relay, and searched eBay. I have the one that came with my car, and a spare I picked up on eBay some time ago. I think the number stamped in the top isHRT 4002A.

It appears the fuse holder is in that one.

The original MoPar OD relay looks like this...

Can folks supply pictures of the kickdown switch they use for OD? Are they under the pedal or at the carbie?

My underhood pictures weren't close in enough to see the linkage but they go on the throttle linkage either at the carb or on top of the head. There were 2 styles.

Are there any part numbers or switches for sale?

Can you feel it in the pedal when you depress the switch? I want some kind of warning I am about to activate it so I don't downshift from overdrive while driving at say, 75MPH and run the engine past 3600 RPM.

Yes and you really have to push it to the floor so you'll know you're doing it.

So where on the head is your bracket for the switch mounted? There is no bolt hole on top of the head. Did you mount it under a head bolt?

The bracket for the kickdown switch bolts to the side of the block where the oil filter bolts (the rear most oil filter bolt or stud). Three places where you can get a kickdown switch are: fifthaveinternetgarage.com and look on page 3 in parts section; George Osche at 814-354-2621; and Studerbaker International at 317-462-3124. George Osche may be able to get a mount for the switch.

Are you sure on the 5th avenue web site? It say that the switch is for under pedal placement.

The switch should work the same whether its under the pedal or on a bracket to be hit by the throttle linkage.
