randroid Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Gents, Always good to hear of a problem resolved, or at least on a direct path to resolution. There is one last question I have, though, and will not be able to sleep peacefully until it's answered: Shouldn't the plural of "Dufus" be "Dufi"? -Randy Quote
Captain Neon Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 Randy- I want you to be able to rest well this evening. The plural of dufus is dufi. Quote
hkestes41 Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Thought I would get the thread up to date. Once I got the starter problems worked out, my starter solenoid shot craps. Took NAPA a week to get the new one to me. Mixed with my travel schedule for work (gone at least 3 days per week for 7 straignt weeks) and the temperature (40 straight days at 100+) Not a lot has been accomplished recently. Anyway, got the solenoid changed and the starter working again, so I fire it up to set the timing and took it for a very short drive around the block when it started making a funny noise and the temp started to climb. pulled it in the garage and noticed grease oozing out the snout of the water pump. Ordered a new pump from Rock Auto which arrived yesterday. Swapped the pump out today and did a few minor things that needed to be wrapped up. Took it out for a ride and must say I LIKE IT. Don't know if it is the jump up to a 230, the higher compression Edgy head compared to the stock one, or that this engine is fresh compared to the old one. But, thers is a very noticible jump in power and drivability with the new engine. Now I just need to get some miles on it over the next few days before I head to Joplin on Thursday for the HAMB Drags. Quote
