50farmtruck Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 These are for sale on ebay: LINK but I have a set of them that were with my truck & was never sure where they came from. These are listed for a 1950 truck but I'm sure that's incorrect. Any ideas? Thanks, Bryan Quote
MBF Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Pretty sure they're from a Dodge passenger car of the late 40's or early 50's. I have one hanging on a wall, but it came off a PH parts truck I have. Mike Quote

50farmtruck Posted June 22, 2011 Author Report Posted June 22, 2011 Thanks guys. They are cool caps. Thought about running them on my truck since my originals are pretty rough but I'm still undecided. Bryan Quote
Reg Evans Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Don't be afraid. Look what I'm running on mine. 53 Car I believe. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Mark doesn't your 1ton have hubcaps? At least in the rear? The 39-47 trucks did along with a stylized cap for the front. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 No, no hub caps. Never had 'em so I don't plan on it. I don't think the floating rear axle would allow a hub cap with how far it sticks out unless it has a big hole in it. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Interesting the 41-47 1tons had caps but my parts book shows no number for the pilot house 1tons. Guess they decided it wasnt worth the effort. Good thing the W series ones are very rare. Quote
buds truck Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 I bought a full set of 4 (they still have red paint in the recesses) for $35 at an old junk store outside of Curlew, Washington a couple of years ago, they are close to perfect and were hanging up in the rafters for years. I am putting them on my 53 truck that is on the dakota frame. they cover up the Dakota 6 lug stock wheels.... Quote
50farmtruck Posted June 23, 2011 Author Report Posted June 23, 2011 I know you've been told before Reg, but that sure is a sharp lookin truck. I'll be building some of those wooden sides for my bed too. I really like those. Bryan Quote

I know that they didn't come on the Pilot House Trucks-they should have though. Bob Quote

50farmtruck Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 Reg, how did you end up with 6 of those? I also have 6. Maybe the trucks came with extras when they were new? I wouldn't mind taking you up on your offer but I'm not sure I will be running my stock wheels at this point. They need some work too. A couple of them have bent & broken spring clips & the only wheels I've found locally are waaay to expensive. Bryan Quote
Rons52Dodge Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 '49-'50 Dodge car.http://www.ctcautoranch.com/Used%20Parts/Hubcaps/Hubcap%20Sub-Pages/Mopar.html Called the guys at CTC and even investigated a pair on ebay. These are 1 piece. Anyone know where I can find 2 piece hubcaps like this ? Realistically we only need 1, but would take 2-3-4- off set. Truly, we arent even sure what they are or if they are correct for a Canadian built 52 Coronet, but spring is coming and we would like to cover the 1 bare rim. http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/247741_10151090757038262_478360411_n.jpg Quote
