The car show at Sully Plantation was held today. It is the largest car show in Northern Virginia. Saw Joe Flanagan and his wife. Sorry that Rodney and Chet did not make it.

No P15's or D24's. Here are pictures of the Mopar entries including my car.

I PM'd Sir Rodney and told him Jim and I were going to be there. I thought I'd see him holding court over in the Studebaker area, but no. That light blue Chrysler Jim showed (50-51?) was really nice. Practically no Mopars of our era, it seemed. Saw a lot of flathead V-8's, which I've never seen before. Cool looking engines. I didn't know the Ford coupes from the late thirties-early forties had them.

I got to see Jim and talk about his overdrive. I hope he gets it going. Anyway, a nice day with a good overcast so it wasn't blazing hot. And I still got to tinker with my own classic.

Joe the flathead v8 came out in 32. Supposedly Henry Ford didn't want to go to a 6 because chevy had that so he went right to an 8.

Thanks Jim! What happened to Chet and Rodney?

Hay Jim & Joe,

Sorry I missed the show on Sunday. I was really looking forward to being there unfortunately I through my back out walking the dog on Friday night. Hunched over on Sunday, I would have needed a walker to do the field. Back in work today but it’s not hard rolling around on an office chair.

Great pictures though !!!

Ed, this one had not been hacked up and destroyed. It was really beautiful. I am expressing my opinion and my opinion only, but the minute I see wire wheels or chopped this or shaved that, I'm no longer interested.

Chet, sorry you couldn't make it. Good luck with your back.

Chet,

Sorry about your back. Maybe next year you will have your '48, Joe will have his '49 and I will have mine with a working overdrive at the show (I can dream can't I?).

Having your car at next year's show with overdrive is a reasonable hope. Seeing my car there is an all-out fantasy.

Joe,

From what I can tell from your posts you seem to be making good progress.

Jim,

I have to give you credit I would have given up years ago but you keep plugging away. At some point you are going to have everything just right then it will be time to start on another project only because you will have all that free time.

Chet...
