P-12 Tommy Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 (edited) Hey guys, I just received a set of 4 inch fog lamps in the mail! They were made by Corcoran Brown and are original Mopar accessory lamps. They say Mopar at the very top of them. They are in excellent condition! The killer part is I only paid 74 bucks on E-bay for them and they light up real bright! It feels like Christmas to me! Thought I'd let you all know! BTW... If anybody knows where I can get a set of brackets, please let me know. I've checked about everywhere and can't score any. Tom Edited May 18, 2011 by P-12 Tommy Add to it Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Posted May 18, 2011 (edited) Merry Christmas Tommy..!!! when ya gonna get them installed...don't forget to put them on a relay... Thanks Tim! As soon as I get brackets there goin' on. There was a guy on E-bay that was selling brackets for around $39.95 but I can't find them. Can I use a headlight relay for those? Ed, that would be cool if I could dig up the parts. ThanksTom Edited May 18, 2011 by P-12 Tommy Add to it Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 yes...headlight relay would do just fine...I will look in my boxes of extra parts after bit and see if I have an extra bracket...I have three sets of th larger lights here somewhere and I think I may have an extra bracket...memory is not the best here..I also have a few sets of the smaller lights so may be confused with thier mounts... P-12 Tommy Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Posted May 18, 2011 The lens measure 4 inches across. That means they're 4 inch right? Tom Quote
1940plymouth Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 Merry Christmas, can't wait to see them on the car Quote
greg g Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 what you have there is one complete bracket, the notched end of the short one fits onto the notched end of the long one then either the long or short end can be bolted through the front splash plan and allow you some freedom of position and adjustment. I have a set of dietz lamps which have a different bracket that goes down the space between the pan and bumber and clamps to the bumper bracket. bracketts should be available at swap meets or maybe ebay. P-12 Tommy Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Posted May 18, 2011 I don't have a splash pan so I have to get the ones that fit on the bumper brackets. Tom Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 worse come to worse, new set bumper bracket style is 54.00 all day long Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Posted May 18, 2011 Thanks Tim. BTW....can I use a Bosch relay or is that 12 volt only? Tom Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 early VW Bosch maybe...the standard 1 1/4 inch sqaure bosch relays are 12 volt..I have never tried to see if the 6 Volt system would have enough umph to lock and hold the armature on the bosch 12V relays.. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted May 19, 2011 Author Report Posted May 19, 2011 I ended up buying a 6 volt headlight relay off E-bay. All I need now is the brackets. Tom Quote

He seems to have all sorts of lighting fixtures for old iron. I just now peeked and he has a very nice pair of good looking chromed brackets for a pair of vintage fog lights. Bottom of page marked old fog lights. Just above the brackets, he is still showing the Yankee Clipper Fog Light I bought; marked as sold. Edited May 20, 2011 by Charlie Olson Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) I'm gonna give it a few days to see if someone comes up with something. If not I guess I'll have to go to the "last resort". BTW... I'll get my relay in a few days, so I'll wire it up until I get some brackets. Tom Edited May 21, 2011 by P-12 Tommy Add to it Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 I found a set of chrome ones for 45 bucks plus shipping. It was listed for a Volkswagon Beetle. They look identical to the ones for our cars. They have a 3 and a half inch gooseneck. Tom Quote
