The drivers side of the front seat in my car sits kinda low. I originally thought it was just me, but I seem to sit a few inches higher on the passenger side. Anyone have an easy fix for this?

Well, when I got my P11 coupe the upholstery was perfect, the seat not so........I sat looking thru the steering wheel the seat was so bad......ended up taking the seat to an upholsterer & had it rebuilt..............ended up costing about $400 as apart from all new springs it also needed repairs to the seat back frame........worth every penny........Jack.....some things are worth getting the "man" to do........lol......had a go yrs ago trying to rebuild a seat.........not worth the hassle.......lol......andyd

You can try taking the seat out and stuffing the coil springs with foam.

The most common failure is not the springs themselves but the liks that hold them together. They help keep the coils centered and working i the vertical plane. When the links break the springs are acting individually rather than as a group. Repairing the links with mechanics wire can go a long way to restoring your ride height. And stuffing the individual coils with high density foam is also a good idea.

Thanks for that link, oldmopar. I might be using that kit on the seat I got from you, though it seems to be in pretty good shape. My original was in basically the same shape as Yukon Jack's. It was like sitting in a hole. All I can say is they must have had some King Size Daddy-Os in those days.

I'm sure what greg said is what's wrong with the original front seat in the

convertible. Every time I take it out of the car for some reason, little

rusty pieces fall out of it, including those attaching clips to join coils.

Thanks for the idea Don, But I think that would only make me sit lower. Maybe I'll try it if moving the steering wheel to the right like BobT suggested doesn't work. :D
