Just checked Roberts and they don't have them. Steele wants $13 each. I was wondering if these are something you could fabricate yourself. I also need the bumpers that go on the hood latch. Does anyone have experience with this?

Joe I got mine at the local do-it-best hardware store. They had both styles used on my p15 for under a buck each.

Joe take a trip to a local bodyshop and inquire as to where they get their fasteners, bumpers, clips, and other such supplies from, there should be a whare house in you area where you can buy that stuff at near wholesale.

OK guys. Thanks a lot. I will try those alternatives.

I don't remember whether my original bumpers disintegrated or I lost them or what, but I don't seem to have them anymore and I was wondering if someone could either describe or post a picture of what they look like. It looks to me like two different kinds were used, larger bumpers toward the rear of the hood and smaller ones toward the front.

Do-it-best Hardware must be local to your area. None here in Tennessee. Reminds me of a line from one of my favorite films "City Hall". A high powered New York City political offical tells his wife he must go to Orchard Supply Hardware to pick up some hardware. Problem is that Orchard Supply Hardware is a Western state only hardware chain. This film was made in California and it shows.

Their website says serving 4000 stores worldwide so must be a little bigger than the midwest. The one that I shop at has about 4x6 times the hardware selection of a homedepot or menards. They carry a lot of stainless stuff and chrome hardware too.

Seems like all we have here are Lowe's and Home Depot. I have to find a good hardware store.

Joe look around and hope you have one. If you do you'll never go to those places for hardware again. I'll go to lowes or depot for some stuff but nuts and bolts never.

Well, ya just won't believe this but I went to the Fastenal web site that Jersey Harold posted and there is a store less than two miles from my house. I can't believe it. It's in an industrial park that I drive by sometimes but never go into. There's all kinds of things hiding in those industrial parks.

The correct P15 hood bumpers are about 1/4" tall by 1/2" diameter.

I bought some a while back that were supposed to be correct, but

they were not tall enough.

Not sure if they are different for a 50 model.

hi joe,

is this for a 49 or 50??

if so, they use a small dia. (1/2") head dia. with a push in type tit. only 1/8" tall. car orginally have 3 per side but could really use 2 more as they are so small.

they have been on ebay but 4-5 bucks each.

got some from andy b. old moparts about 2 months ago. $1 each. on online cat. they are in interior rubber listing.

happy hunting

ya,

i know how his popularity poll is about 50/50 on this board.

he will probably sell them at $1 each. so, 6 x $1 = 6 or if want to add more say 10 x $1 = $10.

either way he will probably charge $12 to ship. what price did you say steele was?

oh well,

the shipping on things often made me look for alternatives.

Joe,

I have some new ones waiting for Pigiron's paint and if you'd like I can take a pic tomorrow. If I can get the old ones out in one piece you're welcome to them. I found a local guy who was going to resto a P-15 then changed his mind and sold me all his new rubber for $100 so I have no idea what he paid for them originally.

Harold, do you know if you can buy these individually or do you have to by them in packages of 25?

I don't know whether they'll sell individual pieces. The only item I bought from them was a large quantity of specialty screws that I needed for my job. FWIW, the personnel at the local Fastenal I went to were very professional and accommodating.
