Mark, enjoyed the latest video, went & checked the Metal Rubber website but could not find any reference to Plymouth parts or list of parts like you show on the video....any chance on getting a copy of that 2 page list?......or show me where its listed on their website.........lol...thanks, andyd.

Metal Rubber does not have a website for their Plymouth parts yet. Dave Kruse is working on it. If you send an email to mark@ytmonline.com I will send a copy of the list to you. The prices on his parts list are better than the ones on eBay and he is happy to deal with you directly. Also, he does not sell his parts to any other sellers so you will not find them in any other catalogs.

nice video and nice clock, but i would swing clear of lindsay mcconel as he sold me a "nos" radiator for my p15 whivh turned out to be a bad used scarp rad. which was worthless for 300 neer did get my money back, watch out for him thisis hte reputation he has, you lucky you got a nice clock, very nice resto.

Like you, I have had good an bad experiences with a variety of vendors over the years. I am sure it is the same for everyone. I am happy with the clock and I feel I paid a fair price based on what I have seen available other places.

Mark.......also mean to mention the clock you got from Lindsay......is that the one he had listed for $799.00?........a bit too steep for me unfortunately.......so I copied a pic of it from the net and printed it out, mounted it behind a piece of clear plastic and its accurate at least twice a day...........lol......seriously........lol........regards, Andy(the tightwad)Douglas

I like your solution to having a clock in your dash. :D I actually have not seen a price list of what Lindsay has available. I didn't know he had one. I would not have paid that much for a clock no matter how much I wanted it. :) I did not pay even half of that.

The video was getting long so I left out some things that I hope to cover in the future.

Finding someone to do cad plating is not too hard because 95% of all the metal used in aircraft construction is cad plated. Taking the cad plating off while deburring is the most common mistake many sheetmetal mechanics make causing parts to corode faster. I even found one place that has a home cad plating kit. Obviously it's not real cad plating like you got done but it looks pretty good.

I realize that now. In California, it is much harder find platers that do a variety of work. They are spread out and not always local. I could not even find anyone who did Zinc plating within 100 miles of me.

Thanks for the comments about the videos. They are fun to make, but having an audience makes it more interesting.

I got video #9 about the restoration of my 1941 Plymouth ASC posted on YouTube. I also show a brief video of a car I saw that someone is having reupholstered as a rat rod" with the idea of selling it for $15,000. Seems like a bad business decision to me... to say nothing of the fact that the car would be a great candidate for restoration.

I encourage you to subscribe to my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/ihazwings) if you haven't. Think about making your own or subscribing to other restoration channel as well. I would like to create a small community of people who make (or watch) videos about car restoration.

The behind the scenes software that runs YouTube automatically creates online "communities" based on people who subscribe to each other, watch similar videos and click on the "like" or thumbs up button after watchin a video. So if you don't subscribe to people who make restoration videos, the virtual communities never get formed. Once the community is going, YouTube will automatically link you to videos on similar topics made by other people as well. Hence... a community is born.

Great video once again. The guy going to redo the upholstery and sell the P15 as a rat rod must have a rat brain. He is ruining a good car and highly optimistic in what he will get for the car. Too bad.

The guy who owns the P-15 does just that, he ownes it and can do whatever he wants to with it. Makes no difference what anyone else thinks. If someone does not like what he is doing they have the option to buy it.

I personally think it is good that he is replacing the interior in that car. I need to do the same with my car but fixed income funds are tight.

The term "rat rod" is interesting. Folks who have one dont like to have ther car called a rat rod. I really dont care if anyone calls my car a rat rod. My car is not stock although for the most part the original body lines are intact, I have a modified flathead six cylinder engine, I have upgraded to disc brakes, 12 volts, and several other enhansments. If you do a close inspection my car looks pretty ratty. But my car is a driver and I do drive it on long trips unlike many who dont drive over 25 miles from home. So if you see my car at a show 1000 or more miles from my home you can tell me with no hurt feelings that I have a rat rod.

I agree with don, i have seen people take cars that are super rare and rod them cause thats what they like to do. the flathead is cool but there is not much power and i the summer months when ac is almost a must a sbc works out to be a better candidate. i have chosen to go stock, but i love the idea of 400 hp and ac.

Thanks for creating a YouTube account. It takes time but eventually more people with similar intersts will start being connected. YouTube can be another great venue to share our hobby.

I got my camera back and posted episode #10 of the restoration progress on my 1941 ASC . Take a look at the firewall completed and woodgrained dash installed.

I also tell a little about the Service Reference books published by Chrysler in the 1940's and 50's and where to find them on the Imperial Club's website.

I should be starting the engine this week!
